40:00 Very good points made regarding victim strategy. Many women, especially if you are a “problem solver” type, you are not going to be an unprepared sitting duck and you will absolutely have a planned strategy to stay safe; based on your knowledge of the stalker’s behaviors and triggers. I have personal experience with this. It’s like when a Bear attacks, if you are smart you will lay down instead of running. If that behavior were not a well known strategy for survival, people who do it would be called stupid...but since the strategy is known to be effective, albeit counter-intuitive in the moment; they are smart. There is a thin line between stupidity and bravery. The difference is knowing ahead of time what your result will be by taking xyz action. Especially relating to stalkers who will usually have predictable behaviors under specific circumstance and unpredictable behaviors under others, which the victim/target learns over time. Even in cases of acquaintance stalking if there is a history of repeated motive and behavior, a proactive person will know ahead of time what they will do in specific situations and be able to stay calm in doing so. And there are risks and trade offs for each. That is the case with Kathleen Baty’s story as well as many others. She placated him at her home and kept him unaware that the police were on the way. Smart.

I am gonna go with employees with CCW's can at least park vehicles with their pistol locked in a vault and if there are no armed security guards, these employees can carry in the company buildings at their job if there are no issues with their firearm interfering with their daily activities... (Like getting caught on equipment and creating an unsafe environment, typical office workers wouldn't have this issue).

20 minutes: So little billy brings his daddy's rifle to school and kills a bunch of people because all the good people have been prohibited from carrying a firearm... See San Bernardino.21 minutes: Define qualified?

15 minute mark: A crazy, disturbed irrational person will bring a gun to work to kill with or without a CCW.... In many states, CCW'ers are background checked.... STATISTICALLY less likely to break laws.... And the workplace isn't the only stressful environment in the life of a CCW'er...and there are NO BLOODBATHS....

12 minutes: No... the gun goes into a locked gun vault... EVERYONE I know has one! ...we don't put them in the glove box13 minutes... CPL... Concealed Pistol Lic, CWL Concealed Weapon Lic....CCW is generally understood

Oh yeah.... CCW'ers are 10 times less likely to commit a violent felony than Police Officers...CCW'ers are like the MOST law abiding demographic in the country....

Armed, capable and rational employees = GOOD.Police can tell who the good guys are from the bad guys because the good guys are yelling for help and the bad guys are shooting at them.Suggesting unarmed employees is better because it eliminates the "Good Guys or Bad Guys" identification is incorrect. Statistically, cops show up after the shooting ends, after the Active Shooter has killed his'self, THAT makes it easier to determine who are perps and who are good citizens....Making more of us sheep does not make us safer.Removing the workplace "Gun Free Zone" classification goes a long way taking it off an active shooters menu.

I did know my husband could kill me as he threatened if I left he would. I didn't believe he would follow through but he did. It is worthwhile to communicate the importance of working with a domestic violence expert or agency to plan a safe and sustainable exit.

From your posts. Second, I couldn't sleep this night and happen to fall on your post which moved me which led me to your video. And it was like light bulb. With the active shooter in CO was going on. I was working and could not stop for preparing to get ready here in Milwaukee. I couldn't sit still, my heart was racing like was running a few miles. When I was done with my tour I had the feeling I not go home. and watching your video put all together. In my career I have been to two active shooters. and they happen in a three month time. I have never been diagnosed with PTSD maybe because what I do as law enforcement it I am use to it. In your video it made it clear why... so thank you for that. I going back to watch the video again. (This is EXACTLY why I am writing this book, for people like him! Grateful and I thank you!)

You are a brilliant and serious representation of the victim of this crime. Your leadership is invaluable. It may be time to run for office. I was a single issue politician who made many changes for my cause which evolved into larger issues. I would like to suggest that rather than lobby for change, you run for office and the supporting vote will give you the power to speak about this in political light. Those who ignore these victims are compounding the problem when they make victims think they are responsable for their losses. These men are professional enterprises run by teams of impersonators in Africa or the local guy who learns that it is easy to steal when words of love or a sexual relationship defines the theft as consensual transfer of money and assets. Congratulations on finding the words to speak about this issue for all of us.

It doesn't matter what your opinions are or anyones opinion might be, the fact is that we have a RIGHT (not a privilege) to keep and bear arms as citizens of the United States. If I work at your facility and have errands to run before and after work then essentially what your "Defense Free" rules do is disarm me completely while at your facility as well and wherever I go before and after. You do not have the right to do that. If you tried to fire me over that I would sue and if the judge had any respect for the constitution then I would win, if not then the judge should be replaced because he obviously doesn't uphold his promise and oath
